Kittens Adopted and Enjoying the Summer!

The quilt on the left, "Woodsy Wonders" was made and sold a couple of years ago, but it was always one of my favorite quilts! Bugs, plants, turtles, lots of nature . . . the perfect summer quilt for kids. And all three quilts were sold to people that were going to give them to children. How perfect is that? I'm sure they're still enjoying them . . .

All six of the kittens from Jasmine's litter have been adopted! O'Doole (cream colored male, very sweet disposition) was adopted on Saturday at Petsmart to a mother/daughter whose cat passed away after many years with their family. I couldn't be happier about the adoptions . . . and O'Doole was quite the little star during the week, too. He went with a couple of dedicated humane society volunteers to speak to a group of girls at an equestrian camp, where he rolled on his back, purred and enjoyed being the center of attention, much to everyone's delight. What a ham! And now he has a great home, too. Happy ending for that great litter of six kittens, born on March 27!

Hope you're enjoying your summer, the longer days and the nice warm nights where you can sit outside and enjoy the mysterious sounds of the darkness. I've got a couple of stray cats that eat their breakfast and dinner on my front porch, and they seem to have become accustomed to me strolling out in the night, talking to them softly, and going back inside . . . they trot up to the food bowl and keep a careful eye on the front windows, where my kitties watch with curiosity. One of them I've already neutered, but I need to catch the other cat to get her/him sterilized, too - kittens are great fun, but a cat over-population problem is not good for the cats. Stay tuned for more on this later . . .
