Jacqueline Decker - an amazing illustrator

Every once in a while, you'll stumble upon an amazing "find" - something that calls to your heart, makes tears come to your eyes, and touches you in a way you can't explain. I "stumbled" this morning when I sat quietly, reading the Spring issue of La Vie Claire, a magazine I've come to especially appreciate for its wonderful photos and dedication to glimpses into the lifestyles of truly gifted people. What caught my attention is the works of Jacqueline Decker, an illustrator of animals, insects, gardens, homes, and everything whimsical! I've always been a huge fan of illustration artists like Mary Engelbreit, Patience Brewster, Laurel Burch, Maren Schaffner and Susan Branch, and collect their licensed works via calendars, books, cards and believe-it-or-not - coffee mugs!

If you have the opportunity to buy this wonderful issue of La Vie Claire, please do! You'll see the quaint home - formerly a church - of Jacqueline and her family, and capture the essence of her imagination. And while you're on that magical path, click on her blog (see link at right, fourth from the top), and view her collections, her licensing partnership, and a sampling of her amazing art!

Jackie's work is awesome! I have been telling her for years that someday she'd be big time. Way to go Jackie- you are almost there!

Thanks for your kind words! I've designed an Adirondack collection with RJR Fabrics which will be coming out this fall. I hope quilters will love using it as much as I loved creating it!
