Back to Quilting . . . It's about time!

I really love this quilt! What started out as an opportunity to use a wonderful collection of heart-inspired fabrics turned into something I now cannot part with . . . yes, it's for sale on my website, and if approached by just the right buyer, of course, I'll part with it . . . but I really don't want to.

You see, my step-dad always bought my mom a box of chocolate covered cherries every Christmas. My mom loves them so . . . and I have to admit, so do I! When I picked up the collection of fabric - a jelly roll of a Valentine's Day line from Moda - I remembered those chocolate covered cherries, but thought about chocolate kisses and cherries - and decided to call this quilt "Chocolate Cherry Kisses"!

But I've been busy with other projects lately, mostly for our local humane society - working on the website, printing flyers for upcoming events, bylaws revisions - and had taken a hiatus from quilting. But now, with July fast approaching, it's time to get back into quilting in order to make those Fall and Holiday quilts. However, I always seem to need a certain "inspiration" to kick-start my creativity, and I believe "Chocolate Cherry Kisses" will be my motivation this season. Even though the color palette - rich dark chocolate, raspberry, cherry, cotton-candy pink - doesn't remind me of fall foliage, wicked witches or Old St. Nick, this quilt makes me happy, brings a smile to my face, and puts a song in my heart! So watch out, quilting. I'm back in the saddle again (as Roy Rogers would say!). Stay tuned for new quilts and quilted wearables popping up on the Four Seasons website any day now . . .
