Four Seasons Quilt Shoppe - Two Months and Counting!

If you're reading this blog, you've probably found me through my website and have visited the section entitled "Show Schedule". And if you are a crafty person yourself and sell your wares at local arts and crafts venues - mostly in the Spring and Fall - you are in "high production mode" right about now! You've already set your show schedule, paid your deposits, decided what items you'll be selling (or not!), and are a very busy bee working at your craft.

For me, the months of December/January/February are my primary design and construction months for quilts that I'll be selling at my Spring shows (two scheduled - Big Canoe Tour of Homes and Druid Hills Tour of Homes). While I often create new, lighter palette quilts just for these shows, I often complete quilts from the Fall and Holiday series in case someone wants to "buy early" for decorating or gift-giving later in the year. And while it's cold outside, it's the best time to hunker down with the sewing machine, the quilting machine, a couple of great movies, and the company of my kitties, and just "get busy"!

The quilt featured above is from the Moda "Posh" collection from a couple of years ago - I went a little nuts with that particular collection - I made a baby quilt which sold immediately, then decided to take advantage of a "charm square" close-out and created a much larger, queen-sized quilt which you see above - it's currently on the quilting frame with hopes of completion this weekend. And right after that, there are at least a dozen new quilts to be quilted for my upcoming shows. Stay tuned and I'll share them with you as they roll off the quilting frame . . .
