It's a New Year . . . and it all starts HERE!

The need to organize is something that comes naturally for me, like sleeping and breathing. Just ask my mother . . . she'll tell you how organized I am! But the holiday season and customer projects kept me very busy, right up to Christmas, and without the opportunity to re-group and organize, I was feeling a little scattered. So, I sat down and made a list of all of the "for sale" new quilts I wanted to make for 2009, and sorted them by size and season. Several large bed quilts, a few medium-sized wallhanging quilts, an assortment of 45" x 60" quilts (which are a big seller for me), and about 20 dog and cat quilts to round out the selection. I'm participating in a couple of spring shows, which will be a wonderful opportunity to showcase the light and bright quilts in a variety of sizes, and then, of course, the fall/holiday shows will be here before you know it! But . . . the photo above is the "after" - after carefully deciding what patterns I wanted to make this year, and which fabrics would best complement the design. Each stack and pattern represents an upcoming "to do" project. Sometimes, I can't make up my mind and just make two quilts from the same pattern, using completely different fabric collections. And I have to say I'm hooked on the new Basic Grey fabric collections by Moda. They took their "Urban Couture" paper collection and produced it in fabric! How great is that!!!! Their next collection is "Sultry", due in January, and I've already got my order in to Rainbow's End for a big fat quarter bundle, and I can't wait to see it. Check back with my website in the next few months as I construct a nice sampling of spring/summer quilts that will make you want to redecorate your master bedroom, or that scarcely used guest room. And yes, I know it's still cold outside, but that's the best time to get busy . . . quilting!

Like you've always said...."You got the cleaning and organizing gene, and I got the cooking gene!!!" I wish I was half as organized as you are. Even my thoughts aren't THAT organized!! LOL
