Baby, It's Hot Outside!
Whew! I finally turned on my air conditioner this weekend when I realized the cats were all laying down on the cool tile floor in the kitchen. Being a native Floridian, I can adjust nicely to heat and humidity, but my furry babies were pleading for COOL! Quilting became more enjoyable, too - no overheating as I was carefully pressing pale beige log cabin blocks to use as background in a couple of new Halloween quilts that will debut at the Crabapple Art & Antiques Show on Saturday, October 4. Just like the fashion industry, I'm always working "ahead of the season", but trying to steam press fabric in 95 + degrees was no fun! And quilting should always be fun - just ask Jeanne Rish, owner of Sew Memorable Quilt Shop in Dawsonville, GA. Jeanne makes quilting so much fun - check out her website: www.sewmemorable.net. And stop by if you're passing through North Georgia.
