Snow Day!

Oh, boy, do the kitties wish they were outside! Last night's snow brought about five-six inches of the fluffy stuff to north Georgia, and it's just beautiful! But the real treat is watching the cats "bird watching". The bird feeder was so busy with activity that I had to throw seed out on the snow in order for everyone to have an opportunity for breakfast. And the cats were just delighted! Against the white landscape, the big black crows and little bitty birds really stand out, and the cats just couldn't get enough of the action outside! Big George just meowed at the front door, begging me to let him out . . . . but it's way too cold to be outdoors . . . . the wind blew snow all the way up to my front door, under the cover of the porch roof, and covered the bench under the windows. Little birds were playing hide-n-seek in the bushes, and the crows were scooping up as many bread pieces as they could stuff in the beaks.
We're expecting freezing rain later today and into tonight, and hazardous driving conditions will continue. As long as the power stays on, I'll be fine inside . . . . I'll finish a quilt, and perhaps get another one on the quilting frame . . . it's like having an "extra Sunday". Yippee for Snow Days!
