You may remember the October calendar that I bought from Kris Hurst of Blissfull Elements in early October. I love that magnetic calendar so much that I asked Kris if she could make me one for December - and look how great it turned out! I'm hoping that she's made several of these and that she's selling them at Lakewood 400 Antiques next weekend (Nov. 18, 19, & 20). She uses the most unique vintage papers and images to create one-of-a-kind "whimsies", little touches to add to your home's decor and make you smile. This little treasure inspires me to start designing Christmas quilts for next year (yes, that would be 2011 - it takes a while to make a series of quilts) and use the theme of "Christmas (eye) candy" - peppermint stripes, dark chocolate bon-bons, taffy, almond clusters, soft-center chews - yummy stuff . . . . wrapped in shiny foil, tied with a pretty bow . . . you get the idea. In the meantime, I'll glance at my December calendar and think of the talent and imagination that Kris uses for each of her pieces . . . . and start to dream of Christmas.
