"Let the Season Begin" . . .

Yes, I know it's still August . . . but in the vendor show world, artisans are creating their art, paying the balances on their show fees, designing their booth layouts, and looking forward to the Fall 2010 season! I know I am! I really love Fall! All the colors - bright orange, scarlet, sage, honey gold, warm browns . . . because I love to make Fall and Halloween quilts, and I think my customers love them, too.

Three shows are planned this season, with the big kick-off at Crossroads at Crabapple in Milton, GA. That first weekend in October is usually great weather - sunny, low humidity, and just a touch of "cool air" in the mornings! I stock my booth with pumpkin quilts, crazy Halloween quilts, scarecrow quilts, and a couple of spooky witches just for good measure. The second weekend in October brings Oktoberfest at Big Canoe, which unfortunately, while being quite profitable for me, has not brought the best of weather - the first year, it was very windy and I had to lay my quilts flat on the ground to keep them from flying off without me, and last year, it rained all day (but I sold everything I had brought, and then some!). And the final show is the first weekend in November - Holiday Marketplace in Gainesville! With a premier night on Thursday, and two full days of holiday selling, this will be my fourth year to participate, and it's always fun! People come to shop for themselves, to buy gifts for friends and family, and enjoy the wonderful variety of vendors selling their wares!

Mark your calendars now! October 2 (Crabapple), October 9 (Oktoberfest), and November 4, 5, and 6 (Holiday Marketplace). I look forward to seeing you!
