Halloween - One Quilt at a Time!

The Joy of Halloween! or was that supposed to be the Joy of Christmas? For me, I think the first phrase is correct! I love all things Halloween, and these, quite honestly, are my favorite quilts to make . . . the zany costumed characters . . . the promise of a good scare . . . and let's not forget that yearly ritual of the Halloween candy! I don't even have children, but often find myself at the grocery store, standing in the middle of the candy aisle, trying to select just the right number of bags for the upcoming Trick-or-Treat Fest. I always over-do the hand-out part - I give away all my candy way before I run out of tricksters . . . and every year I try to be more controlling of the candy disbursement, but always fail. Oh well . . .

But I digress . . . I'm in full "make those Halloween and Fall quilts" mode, having returned a few weeks ago from Rainbow's End Quilt Shoppe in Dunedin, FL, with several quilt panels, matching coordinates, and a whole lot of inspiration. Michelle has the "best" Halloween panels - and it's worth the long drive from north Georgia to the west coast of Florida (near Tampa) to make my selection. I buy the panels, bring them home and coordinate them with fabrics I already own - goodness knows, I have a great stash of all-things-Halloween! The little door banner quilt you see above is a combination of a new panel, and a bunch of appropriate "Halloween" scraps and pieces . . . "Halloween Party" and other one-of-a-kind quilts will debut at Crossroads at Crabapple on Saturday, October 2 - am I planning ahead or what?
