Four Seasons Quilt Shoppe - "I Want Candy!"

I just love coming up with ideas for funky projects! At my "day job", they had a pumpkin carving contest and I won! It was really by default that "Polly the Pumpkin" came to be . . . you see, Home Depot had sold out of their traditional pumpkins, so I used one of the pumpkins that I have decorating the front of my house. Squat, with deep ridges, and a really thick rind, this was the most challenging "carving job" I've ever encountered. The rind was at least three inches thick and had to be scraped away on the inside so I could get the paring knife to completely puncture the thickness. Polly the Pumpkin and her slogan "I Want Candy!" have been a resounding theme for me this Fall - two of my vendor show quilts were of the same name, and everyone just loved them! Because, you know - at Halloween, it's all about the candy!
