The Five Jacks - Trick or Treat!
I love Halloween! The costumes, the colors, the candy - it's just so much fun! I live in a neighborhood with a lot of young families and small children, and the parade of Ninjas, Spidermen, fairy princesses, and even a couple of monkeys with bananas - it was so very entertaining. I rushed home from work and carved the pumpkins that had been sitting on my porch bench for over a week so that I could "light 'em up" for the Trick-or-Treaters! I call this ensemble the "Five Jacks". Don't they look just so happy and cheerful! I almost expect them to start singing "Monster Mash". Which brings me to . . . I listen to an oldies radio station every day driving home from the office, and they play music that's even before my time . . . if you can believe that! I'm heading up GA 400 this afternoon, thinking about the faces I'm getting ready to carve into those pumpkins, and what do they play but "Monster Mash". How many of you remember that song? I was singing at the top of my lungs, enjoying the drive home. Now that the little ghouls and goblins have departed for the night, I'll let the Five Jacks' candles burn down to nothing, but tomorrow night . . . I'm going to "light 'em up" again just so I can enjoy them one more time. "They played the Mash, you know the Monster Mash! It was a graveyard smash, it caught on in a flash . . . you know, the Monster Mash". Hooooooooooooowwwwwwww!
