Cats and Quilts . . .

If you remember the photo that I had posted of the five foster kittens, you'll appreciate this little story. Litter #1 (that's what I call them collectively) was spayed/neutered by Doc Mills on August 27, then four of the five kittens were taken to Petsmart in Cumming this past Saturday, in hopes of being adopted to their forever homes. And dont' you know all four were adopted! I was doing the happy little cat dance after I got the phone call . . . as a foster mommy, adoption and forever homes are the goal after many weeks of bottle feeding, scooping litter, and cleaning up after little babies that need to be "shown" the ways of the world. While in my care, each of them received love and affection, and tutelage from the adult cats in the household - Big George was "cat daddy", while Ginger Cookie was the disciplinarian. This weekend, the last kitten will go with the Dawson County Humane Society adoption crew to Petsmart and hopefully, find his forever home, too. Meanwhile, back at the ranch . . . Litters #2 and #3 are scheduled for spay/neuter, and their shots, to ready them for the big day when they will also be available for adoption. All that I can ask is that their adoptive parents love them as I have loved them, and keep them safe and happy for the rest of their lives!
