A Special Artist and One of my Favorites . . .

I was introduced to Patience Brewster when my friend, Irene, gave me a ballerina cat ornament for Christmas several years ago. The detail of the face and the whimsy of the outfit this little dancer wore were so incredible! I did my online research and found that Department 56 had an entire line of Patience Brewster ornaments and other assorted novelties entitled "Krinkles". A Christmas shop in St. Pete Beach (FL) carried almost the entire line of PB, even some of the furniture. Needless to say, Patience included Halloween characters in her ornaments, and I bought several of the spooky bat cats, witches, and assorted goblins to hang from my Halloween garland. I happened to think of her again today when Jo Packham with "Where Women Create" sent her "quote of the week", and a link to the new Patience Brewster website. Seems as though Patience's license with Department 56 expired, and she decided to create and manufacture her ornaments, cards, and assorted gift items on her own! Congratulations, Patience, and what a big job you've undertaken, and with beautiful results! Follow the Patience Brewster link on the right, and click through the tabs until you find the YouTube video of how her ornaments are made - just incredible! You, too, will become a fan, I'm sure!
