I Love Halloween!
If you've been to Michael's or Joann's or Home Goods in the past few weeks, you've seen Halloween decorations everywhere! Halloween is the second most-decorated holiday of the year (behind Christmas, of course), which just makes me so very happy! I love Halloween! I love black cats (see Nellie Rose, above, perched in front of my Halloween Round Robin quilt), trick-or-treating, little kids dressed in costumes, grown-ups wearing something festive (like skeleton earrings or dracula ties). This year, I will be in Houston for Halloween, attending International Quilt Festival, and you can bet that there will be lots of attendees at the George R. Brown Convention Center dressed in costumes in their vendor booths, and at the host hotels. Quilters really get into the whole "holiday dress-up" thing! If you're a quilter, make yourself a Halloween quilt, or better yet, come visit me at the Crabapple Arts and Antiques Festival (City of Milton, GA) on Saturday, October 4, and select a bed quilt or wall hanging to help you decorate for the "spookiest" day of the year! I'll have Happy Jack pumpkins, scarecrows, pumpkins for sale, crows on pumpkins, scrappy Halloween - all quilted and just adorable. I hope to see you there!
