Apron Strings
As a vendor at various north Georgia arts and handmade shows, I'm always looking for something to give a little spark to the merchandise that I offer. I try to make items that are happy, cute, creative, and just make people smile. Aprons and pincushions have become so popular lately that I thought back to last summer, at the Rainbow's End Christmas Open House, and how Michelle had lots and lots of these cute little aprons made up from her Fall and Holiday collections of fabrics, and how festive everything looked! So I ordered the same apron pattern from Teacher's Pet, a pattern company that has a certain sense of whimsy. This adorable little apron is something you'd expect to see Carmen Miranda wearing, with the signature "bowl of fruit" hat! And the fabric that I used is called "Oh, Cherry!" by Moda. Even better, you make this little cutey from a jelly roll - that pre-cut bundle of 2 1/2" strips that features all of the fabrics in the collection of "Oh, Cherry". The lovely Miss Katie Ozenick is my ever-so-gracious "apron model" - doesn't that apron look good on her? What a nice accessory over her skirt! I'll be offering more of these aprons at my Fall shows, just in time for Thanksgiving and Christmas cookie baking!
