Classic Santas by Marlyn Fowler

A customer of mine from Spring Hill, Florida, does some of the most meticulously "perfect" applique that I've ever seen. Marlyn Fowler made this Classic Santas quilt - see detail above - and I was so impressed by the various fabric color combinations within each block, the detail of each appliqued piece, that I was almost hesitant to machine quilt the surface. I quickly got over that when I realized how wonderful it would look with just the right amount of quilting, using Superior Threads' King Tut #976 Olde Gold, and a medium "busy bee" quilt stitch. Marlyn will be giving this beautiful quilt to her grandchildren, and I'm sure it will soon become a treasured heirloom.
