Welcome Back, Fall!

Fall is my favorite time of year, and there is no better way to kick-off this great season than with a hometown festival. The City of Milton hosted the Crabapple Arts & Antiques Festival this past Saturday, October 4, and what a wonderful day it was. Here's a photo of my booth, with new, colorful Fall quilts and wallhangings adorning the entry. I met some wonderful people, and lots of dogs - big and small - stopped by to say "hello", grab a (Halloween) treat, and yes - purchase my quilts. I was thrilled when Scrappy Halloween 2 with the curved borders sold, and of course, my 12 Dog Days of Christmas was a big hit with a couple who had a new black lab puppy named Belle. And what a sweetheart she was - puppy breath and all! They purchased the 12 Dog Days of Christmas for their daughter who is studying to be a vet - bless her heart! And of course, Birch River Cabin - an intricate quilt of black and white fabrics - was a true hit with many quilters and non-quilters alike.

Next week, I'm off to Big Canoe in the north Georgia mountains for Oktoberfest for residents and their guests. Lots of good food, entertainment, wonderful arts and crafts, and of course - BEER! My colleague, Dave Foster, a resident of Big Canoe, will have his whole family there, and it will be a fun day, I'm sure.
